Sébastien Preschoux, est né en 1974. Artiste autodidacte, il œuvre dans le domaine de l’art optique et cinétique depuis une dizaine d’années. Son travail, influencé par le mouvement Op Art et les enseignements du Bauhaus, réside principalement sur le travail de la ligne, de sa répétition et les effets cinétiques que sa démultiplication génère. La ligne, à la fois sujet et matière de ses expérimentations, agit comme un véritable fil conducteur offrant une infinité de variations, sur toile comme dans ses installations. Au-delà de l’aspect technique et rigoureux de son travail, Sébastien est en recherche permanente d’harmonie des couleurs et des formes, portant l’expérimentation au cœur de sa démarche créative.
La hiérarchie des couleurs, l’incertitude permanente du résultat final et l’impossibilité de faillir placent son travail dans une quête permanente de défi tant technique qu’esthétique. Il est important de souligner qu’à aucun moment l’utilisation de l’outil informatique n’intervient dans son processus de création. Ses œuvres restent le résultat d’un hasard maîtrisé, où chaque étape est autant de source d’inspiration pour la pièce suivante.
Sébastien Preschoux, was born in 1974. Self-taught artist, he has been working in the field of optical and kinetic art for ten years. His work, influenced by the Op Art movement and the teachings of the Bauhaus, resides mainly on the work of the line, its repetition and the kinetic effects that its multiplication has triggered.
